J. Blake Johnson began his legal career at one of Oklahoma’s largest and oldest law firms, where he honed his skills as a civil litigator and business lawyer. He then co-founded Overman Legal Group, representing clients of all types and sizes in various litigation and transactional needs. As a litigator, Blake has achieved significant success, including defending a high-profile athlete in a personal-injury case, obtaining dismissals, securing favorable settlements, and protecting a tribe’s arbitration award.
As a business lawyer, Blake guides companies through every phase of development, including business formation, contract negotiation, securities matters, acquisitions, employment issues, and business divorces. Blake graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he was an Articles Editor of the Oklahoma Law Review and received the Pro Bono Award. He was also a national-award-winning member of the ABA Appellate Advocacy team. Before law school, Blake was a national debate champion and the Founding Director of the Bay Area Urban Debate League, establishing debate teams in under-resourced high schools in San Francisco.
